The Enchnated Rose is an elegant Beauty and the Beast themed lounge located at Disney’s Grand Floridian resort. Opened in October 2019, it pulls it’s inpsiration from the live action version of the famous story.
Located on the 2nd floor, the lounge opens at 3:30 and closes at Midnight. In addition to a full bar they also a selection of small plates and snacks available. We arrived a little before 5:00pm and found a small line of patrons waiting to get in. Unlike Trader Sam’s grog grotto, there is no “virtual queue” type waiting list. You queue up right there and they seat you in real time. At least that was our experience. We didn’t have to wait long and were promptly seated at a table next to the windows.
The lounge is elegant and refined with this beautiful chandelier the obvious focal point, dominating the view of the bar from every direction.
The lounge is at the lake side of the resort, giving nice views of the Polynesian, Grand Floridian grounds, and towards the Magic Kingdom.
Having just come from the usual lively time at Trader Sam’s, we wanted to let the good times roll as they say and ordered a couple of cocktails. My beautiful wife ordered a Kir Royale – Laurent Perrier Brut Champagne and Pomegranate Pearls for $28. The price may seem high at first, but Laurent Perrier Champage is certainly a step above the cheap stuff that is more commonly served. My wife loves Kir Royale’s and she said this version was excellent.
Meanwhile, I ordered my go to cocktail, an Old Fashioned – Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Orange, Sugar in the Raw, and Angostura Bitters for $21.
When the drinks were first brought over the waiter noticed that the drink was “unfinished” as he put it. It was missing the cherries and orange rind. He apologized and quickly rectified the son. Every seat in the place was occupied so I tack this up to an honest mistake from a very busy bartended. The fact that it was caught before my drink was delivered to the table shows that the staff here is serious about ensuring everything is just right. This was the only snafu, if you even want to call it that, in what was otherwise fantastic service.
The drink itself was very well prepared. I do prefer 1 larger ice cube to several smaller cubes – it doesn’t melt as fast and thus doesn’t water the drink down. Let’s just say, melting was not a big concern for me at this point.
As I mentioned we had just come from Trader Sam’s, so these were not our first adult beverages of the day. Even though we had dinner reservations later at the Boathouse (see our review of that meal here: Dinner at the Boathouse) a snack was in order. We ordered the house made beef jerky and Artisanal Cheese Plate.
I neglected to take pictures of these items before we dug in and I place blame squarely with the drinks. They were both fairly typical for what you’d expect, but that’s not to say they weren’t good. Both were satisfying accompaniments to the drinks. The jerky was $8 and the cheese plate was $19, which felt about right. Other food options includes truffle fries, flatbread, and caviar for $115 if that’s your jam. Probably would go quite well with the higher end champage they serve.
Overall, we really enjoyed the Enchanted Rose lounge. The drink prices may be $1 or $2 more than you’ll find at other resort lounges, but this is location is decidedly more upscale feeling than other resort lounges I’ve been to. The small plate prices were pretty much in line with other lounges. If your party has any Beauty and the Beast fans I’d say this is almost a must do. The service and finishes make you feel like you’re the belle of the ball and it’s a great location to rest for a spell. We’ll be back on our next trip for sure!
